Work Sucks Entry
My boss has been crying and sniffling and snorting for the past 10 minutes, and she’s told the past 4 people that have walked by her office that there was “a red-headed dachshund at the shelter,” and she is losing her mind claiming to be having a “nervous breakdown” (she’s not) over this random dog (and telling everyone so she can get attention), instead of getting me the work I need to do my JOB. It’s always like this. I’m always having to wait on everyone to get finished doing nothing, then I get in trouble because the work doesn’t get done right on time. And do you know how uncomfortable a situation it is to have someone who is very morbidly obese talk about their weight and their eating habits every single DAY to anyone that comes by (and rather loudly at that)? It’s so unprofessional.
One day, I did an experiment. This person came in a little after 9 am. Had lunch from 11:00 - 12:15 or so. She left at 4:30. I made notes on every non-work conversation I overheard while at my desk that day. They added up to ~75 minutes. That means my supervisor actually worked a 5-hour day at most, and chats and watches videos of celebrities and male models online the rest of the time. And if I need to leave just an hour early to go to the dentist, I have to take half a sick day. And then she complains because she had to take a supervisor’s class because I’m her assistant. It’s not a matter of Higher-Up Privilege, it’s a matter of a lack of respect and understanding. Haha, no. Someone tried to pull rank on her one time (we’re a bank, wth?), and she pitched a fit. All of this is why I don’t feel bad for sneaking onto Tumblr a few times a day. Not anymore.
